Dear Future 14 Maple Terrace Homeowners,
While we all look for different things in a house: number of bedrooms, bathrooms, one level or two, in buying a property we are ultimately all looking for the same thing: A place we can call Home. A place in which to grow and flourish, a refuge from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Our house, 14 Maple Terrace, felt like a home from the start. The peace and quiet of living on a street that does not have cars racing up and down, the sense of community on our block of great neighbors, the ease of children taking the bus from the corner of our street to elementary school, all added to our feeling of being at home from the minute we moved in.
Now, years later, after many igloos have been built in deep snow in the front and back garden, after many twilight games of Capture the Flag taking over all the gardens on the block, after watching our child walk to Jefferson while picking up friends along the way, walking to the middle school, and then finally walking with friends to Columbia High school, now we all walk into Maplewood Village to eat pizza or ice cream or have a drink or a coffee, or commute the 30 minutes into New York City for work or fun.
This home has seen many holiday dinners prepared in our kitchen, while chef and bottle washer could still enjoy the company of family and friends sitting in the open attached family room. Having the quiet view of the back garden through the bay window or sitting on the deck eating BBQ with friends has been a source of great pleasure for us.
The Maplewood room/office has had many uses over the years. It made a great playroom, Den/TV room and now an office where college essays are written, bills are paid, and vacations are planned.
It’s hard to say what I love most about our home. If I were made to answer in 10 words they would be as follows:
