Dear Future 301 Highland Ave Homeowners,

Our family has lived in this house for the past 47 years. It has always been a house that exudes warmth, love and family. We have especially enjoyed our holidays in this house. Company enters and conversational groups begin in the kitchen or in the living room. Some people watch sports and other television in the butler’s pantry or the “little room” next to the kitchen. The dining room has always been cozy and as dinner is ready, everyone moves to the table. With the butler’s pantry nearby it has always been easy to serve and then clear. The bow windows create an open feeling for dining room conversation. At Christmas, our tree has always been visible from the street in the living room bowed window. After dinner people stay at the dining room table or move back into other areas to finish the evening.

While we have entertained company in the living room and dining room, much of our family time has been spent at meals in the pantry/breakfast nook. It is so pleasant to come there in the morning for coffee or to come in the evening for dinner and the news. The space allows for close family communication.

The room next to the kitchen is small but functional. It has a full bath with a shower. It makes a wonderful den, sitting room or spare bedroom but was a godsend to us when our mother was sick and could no longer climb the stairs. With that room she could have her privacy instead of a hospital bed in the living room.
