Dear Prospective Buyer,

I have fallen in love with the sweet house at 31 Woodside, as I have spent time restoring it in the last few months.

The area is so peaceful with a wall of deep green at the top of the street where Eagle Rock reservation runs along Mountain Avenue. As you turn the corner onto Woodside the view of New York City is breathtaking – especially the lights at night. So many hawks and birds are in the area along with the beautiful tulip tree right in the back yard. Sitting on the deck with coffee is a joy and a respite from the harried world.

This house was originally built by its first owner and it shows. The original banister (now restored), the original brass on the front door, the adorable dining room cabinet, and the beautiful wooden floors -all remind me of a time when houses were well built – with love. The original family was from Sweden and lived in the house for 50 years. The huge loft they built in the garage is still strong and sturdy for your storage.

We have renewed and restored as many details as we could – while creating an open concept brand new kitchen with breakfast bar. There is a working fireplace and a lovely sunroom that extends out from the living room with a large picture window. The house is well designed with a nice flow and its reasonable size is in keeping with the current thoughts on being environmentally aware of leaving a small carbon footprint behind us.

It’s a ½ mile walk through Eagle Rock reservation to the huge Whole Foods over the hill and a 5-minute drive along lovely Mountain Avenue to the restaurants, boutiques, theater and museum in Montclair. And yet West Orange has a certain “real” feel all its own – the old bowling alley, the diners, the small businesses all retain a wonderful the sense a small American town. The warm neighbors who have lived here for years and the new families all blend to create a wonderful community.

The Redwood School ranks highest among West Orange Elementary schools (Greatschools.org ranking of 9!) – higher than some better-known schools that according to reviews and neighbors are also outstanding!

This lovely house, and the way it’s situated, will make a wonderful home for you. It’s hard to let it go, but I’m so happy its restored and ready for new owners!

Best Wishes,

The Current Owner of 31 Woodside Terrace
