6d and I have been through a lot together. When I bought her in 2009, she reminded me of a stray cat needing some love. She was in really rough shape, dirty, and neglected. My father and I did a full gut-job and gave her a deep clean, new flooring, fresh paint, a new kitchen and all the finishes. She was my starter home, as a young NYC commuter, and was (and still is) my pride and joy. I made her my own. I was proud to have made such a smart investment in a wonderful town. I quickly fell in love with Maplewood and enjoyed my walks to the train each morning and evening, my frequent visits to the village for some of the world’s best pizza at Arturo’s (according to me), and running along the quiet and picturesque neighborhood streets. 6d was with me through heartbreak and newfound love. Career setbacks and promotions. The drama and the good times. She watched me grow as a person, move abroad as a new wife, and come home as a new mommy. We’ve been through a lot together and I will miss her very much. I’ll miss the cozy winter nights on the couch listening to the soft hiss of the steam heat. I’ll miss chatting with the neighbors who have become good friends. I’ll miss laughing with the super who always wants what’s best for everyone. I’ll miss splashing in the pool and the early private mornings in the gym. I’m going to miss everything about her. But now with our expanded family, we need to move on to the next chapter of our lives. I truly hope she finds a new owner to love her as much as I have, as they start a new chapter in their lives. Whoever you are, please take good care of my 6d!
