 Dear Future Homeowner,

Welcome to Maplewood and to 515 Prospect Street! We know that you will love this town and this house as much as we have.

The first floor has been the site of so much great entertaining, and we have hosted numerous family dinners, birthday parties, and au pair cluster meetings, with our guests flowing from the kitchen, through the dining and living rooms, and spilling out onto the side porch and back patio. The openness of the floor plan has also meant that we can work in the kitchen or at the dining room table, while still keeping tabs on our daughters’ antics in the adjacent rooms.

We have enjoyed spending time with our friends and family here. It has tons of great space and warmth that always made it feel like a place where people we loved wanted to come together and have fun.

The house has details on the first floor in the living room, dining room, family room and kitchen that make it comfortable and so livable. Upstairs there are four large bedrooms and we all had the space we needed for toys, TV, an office and enough bathrooms for everyone to avoid stepping on each other’s toes. On the third floor we have had two au pairs who have been valuable members of our family and they have been able to live up there with independence in a comfortable and personal space. We really, really love this house and will be sad to say good bye.

We have also loved living in Maplewood and so close to South Orange. Our neighbors have been amazing and we have felt so connected to the towns. The diversity in the community was very important to us and the friends we have made here will be friends for life! Our children are too young for school, but we have heard only great things about the Clinton, SOMS and Columbia school experiences and communities. We know a number of families with their children going to school at Clinton and all of them have been thrilled with their experience there.

We love the proximity to both towns and the ability to walk to the train station for a 30 minute direct commute to NYC! It is a 15 minute walk to Maplewood’s train station and a 20 minute walk to South Orange and it is such a luxury to have that kind of choice! There is also a jitney a couple of blocks away for those particularly cold or hot days… We love to walk to town for events like Maplewood stock in the summer, the Halloween Parade in the fall and Dickens Village in the winter. Maplewood town has some of our favorite restaurants downtown, as well as a movie theater and a variety of great shops. We absolutely love the Maplewood town pool, the town library, and the local playgrounds, where we often run into friends and feel like we are living in a community like the one we left in Brooklyn. It’s an amazing community that we have been so lucky to be part of these past few years.

Sincerely, the current 515 Prospect St owners
