Dear Future 55 Kendal Homeowners,

This home has been the perfect spot to raise my family. This is the absolute BEST street for small kids!

It is long and flat with just a quick and easy walk to town for pizza and ice cream, around the corner are two fabulous parks and the commute from train to home is a snap!

We have had the most creative block parties( a mechanical bull two years running!) Dinner parties, Bunco, play dates happen just by opening the door- and I’d be remiss not to mention the annual Halloween parade and epic trick or treating on the block- We wait all year for this fantastic experience. We have been very safe and well looked after here for the last 20 years. And that’s the thing… people stay here and grow roots. I have known many of our neighbors from the first week we moved here and my kids and I have made lifelong friends.

Marshall and Jefferson schools were just magical experiences and my kids got great educations there. They were very excited when they got to walk like big kids when they entered Jefferson and then into Maplewood Middle school where they could spend time with friends in town or at the library before coming home. The walk to the high school is also a quick one so the kids were able to participate in a lot of after school activities without a need for rides.

The town is a very unique and inclusive place. There’s something about a downtown that is walkable that changes things. I know all the shop owners, buy gifts at great stores like The Tenth Muse, Perch and 165. Grab brunch at The Bagel Chateau and Village Coffee as well as the Maplewood diner. It’s a toss up for us about who has the best pizza, but Village Trattoria and Roman Gourmet are tied for an easy regular night out and Arturo’s offers a more upscale farm to table vibe. Having a bookstore, movie theater and the best bakery, hands down- The Able Baker, you’ve got yourself covered! Of course if you want to grab a drink and adult night out there’s always Coda, The pub and SOPAC for amazing music.

We have truly flourished in this home and have had some incredible experiences. It’s bittersweet to leave, but we are ready and excited to pass the torch on to you.
