Dear Future 6 Yale Street Homeowners,
Our home has been an incredible place for our family for the past six years. We moved to Maplewood from Park Slope, Brooklyn, and quickly met like-minded young professionals on our daily jitney and train commutes into NYC. The people of Maplewood are vibrant, welcoming, and progressive. We very quickly became part of the community, first as a couple and then as parents, and have made strong friendships along the way. Yale Street is a great block to live on- our neighbors are friendly and helpful, and we have enjoyed the annual block parties as well as casual backyard hangs. The midtown direct train is a quick walk from the house, or you can always catch the jitney that stops at the end of our block, making it super convenient to make the train in the morning. Two great parks (Memorial and Maplecrest) are also a short walk from the house, and we have always enjoyed taking our son for regular play dates there. You can also take a quick walk to Maplewood village for great restaurants, cafes, and shopping. The excellent neighborhood elementary school (Tuscan Elementary) is less than a five minute walk from the house as well.
We have really enjoyed many aspects of our home. Our main floor has an open layout between the kitchen, dining, and living rooms, making for a great experience cooking, eating, and entertaining. The bright and airy Maplewood room off of the living room is awesome as a reading space or playroom. We’ve loved hanging out in our backyard, grilling on the deck, making s’mores in our firepit on the stone patio, and having our son run around with our dog or play on his swingset. The finished attic makes for a great guest suite as well as a bonus office space. The finished basement gives plenty of room for a man-cave, extra playroom, and lots of storage. The 2-car garage is in excellent condition, and gives you endless amounts of storage space as well. The new and energy-efficient central AC system throughout the entire house is a life-saver on those hot and sticky summer days.
Overall, we’ve had an amazing experience living at 6 Yale Street, and will miss it greatly. We hope that you enjoy living here as much as we have!
All the best,
The Current 6 Yale St Homeowners
