LETTER TO FUTURE OWNER

Dear Prospective Buyer,

This home first got my attention because of the amount of living space it offered.   I liked the openness of the first floor and how the high ceiling and windows made the inside feel bright and airy. I was drawn to having a 2nd floor which feels to me more like a house than a condo. I learned quickly, how much I liked having the washer and dryer on the same level as my bedroom. I’m not sure I can even live without that again!

Over the years, I have replaced all of the appliances, painted every surface and installed 5 energy efficient windows. I have loved making this place my home. I also love the outdoor space of the patio and find myself eating meals out there in the summer.

For several years, 3 days a week, I commuted to NYC using the 107 X bus that picks up at the base of the driveway and drops off across the street! On the other days, I used the Maplewood train that goes directly into NYC.  An avid runner, I have explored Maplewood and the neighboring towns of Milburn and South Orange on foot and enjoy the atmosphere of families, other runners and cyclists, green space and varied terrain.

I am particularly fond of Maplewood Village, which sits along the train tracks and is full of restaurants and cafes, unique shops, several banks, and a post office.   In recent years, the Springfield Avenue corridor has sprung up with new businesses and eateries.   In addition there is a Trader Joes, Stop ‘N Shop, multiple fitness centers, Target, Home Depot, Staples, medical centers, veterinary clinics and more all in near proximity.   I find that I can get everything done in the area!

This has been my home for 10 years and I have been in Maplewood for a total of 13 years. It is the longest time I have ever lived anywhere. Life circumstances require me to not only to move out of my home but to move away from New Jersey.  I will miss this kitchen, my comfy living room, the patio and will always have sense of wistfulness and appreciation for the first home I ever owned.
