Dear Future Owner of 733 Valley Street,
Welcome to a great home in a great location. You have probably noticed the amazing view. And you’ve seen that the house is close to Maplewood Village, parks, and schools. But you may not know what it’s like to live here.
First, you should know that the neighbors are incredibly friendly. Some of us go out together on regular excursions. Others wave and take care of their gardens. We all watch out for each other.
Next, know that Maplewood and its environs have a lot to offer, all within reach. The Village has good restaurants (Coda is our favorite!), bars, and a movie theater. Same goes for South Orange and Millburn, both just a few minutes away. You have access to all sorts of retail outlets, from discount to luxury, within just a short drive. Target, Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, and Petsmart are all with 5 minutes’ driving distance.
Of course, NYC is magnetic. You can get there within 25 minutes by train during the weekday commute. Choose the quiet car and you can focus on your reading or music (in your headphones). Or join the gabfest in the vestibules—your choice.
If you travel more broadly, for business or pleasure, you will be able to get to Newark airport in no time. And the taxi company is just around the corner and will come at your command.
Eventually, though, you will come home to Maplewood. We’ve had great gatherings of friends and family in this comfortable home. And we’ve enjoyed many quiet hours relaxing and taking in the incredible view.
